Abstract

The South China Sea dispute has adversely affected the regions involved in the dispute but, at the same time, other countries involved in trade with them have also been affected. It is one of the most important trade routes and it is important to end the dispute over the South China Sea so that trade and economic activities of all countries are not disrupted. Furthermore, the US is playing a very important role in resolving this dispute, as it has extensive security commitments in East Asia and is allied with many countries bordering the South China Sea such as the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. Therefore, any dispute between them will have a direct impact on America.
