A Comparative Study of the Adjustment of Athlete and Non-Athlete Police Officers

Abstract

This research study conducted a comparative analysis of the adjustment between athlete and non-athlete police officers. The study was limited to the Aravalli and Sabarkantha districts. Police officers from these districts who had completed five years of service were selected as subjects. The study focused on police officers over the age of 25. A total of 150 athlete police officers and 150 non-athlete police officers from the Aravalli and Sabarkantha districts were selected. A total of 600 police officers were chosen using a random sampling method. Dr. Pramod Kumar's standardized questionnaire was used as the measurement tool for assessing adjustment. To compare the mental health of athlete and non-athlete police officers, the 't' ratio was applied and significance was checked at the 0.05 level. The findings revealed a significant difference in the adjustment between athlete and non-athlete police officers.

Abstract in Gujarati Language: આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં ખેલાડી અને બિન ખેલાડી પોલીસ ભાઈઓના સમાયોજનનો તુલનાત્મક અભ્યાસ કર્યો હતો. આ અભ્યાસ અરવલ્લી અને સાબરકાંઠા જિલ્લા પૂરતો મર્યાદિત હતો. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં અરવલ્લી અને સાબરકાંઠા જિલ્લામાં પોલીસમાં નોકરીમાં પાંચ વર્ષ પૂર્ણ કરેલ ભાઈઓને વિષયપાત્રો તરીકે પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં 25 વર્ષથી ઉપરની મર્યાદા ધરાવતા પોલીસ ભાઈઓને પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં અરવલ્લી અને સાબરકાંઠા જિલ્લાના 150 ખેલાડી ભાઈઓ અને 150 બિન ખેલાડી પોલીસ ભાઈઓને પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં કુલ 600 પોલીસ ભાઈઓને યાદ્દચ્છિક પદ્ધતિથી પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ સમાયોજનના માપન માટે ડૉ. પ્રમોદકુમાર રચિત પ્રશ્નાવલિને માપનના ધોરણ તરીકે પસંદ કરવામાં આવી હતી. ખેલાડી અને બિન ખેલાડી પોલીસ ભાઈઓના માનસિક સ્વાસ્થ્યની તુલના કરવા માટે ‘t’ રેશિયો લાગુ પાડી 0.05 કક્ષાએ સાર્થકતા ચકાસવામાં આવી હતી. જેનું તારણ આ પ્રમાણે જોવા મળ્યું હતું. ખેલાડી ભાઈઓ અને બિન ખેલાડી ભાઈઓના સમાયોજનમાં સાર્થક તફાવત જોવા મળ્યો હતો.
