Water is one of the most essential components of life. Fresh water on Earth is present in rivers, ponds, lakes, springs, etc. India is particularly blessed with some of the most significant rivers in the world. Uttar Pradesh has been blessed with many important rivers. These rivers are the lifeline of the state. In this research, we analyse the water quality of four essential rivers of Uttar Pradesh: Ganga, Gomti, Saryu and Yamuna. The rivers considered in this study are critical for the state. This study considers the stretch of these rivers flowing in Uttar Pradesh. For analysis, we consider the data for the year 2022, from January to December. The water quality parameters considered for the study include pH, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, total coliform and faecal coliform. We have applied one-way ANOVA (analysis of variance) for each parameter on the data, and then we have compared the water quality of these rivers according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
