Background of study: It is important for us to realize that we are in complete control of our bodies and can choose what makes us comfortable or uncomfortable. It gives one a sense of security and well-being. Objective of study: 1) To assess the pre- existing knowledge regarding Bio Medical Waste management among nursing student 2) To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching program on level of knowledge regarding Bio Medical Waste Management among nursing student 3) To find out association of past test knowledge with selected demographic variables. Research methodology: In the present study qualitative approach was used, pre-experimental research one group pre and post-test design was used. Simple Random sampling technique was used. Study setting in GNM 2nd year students at selected nursing college Karad. Result: In pretest there were,7(14%) had poor level of knowledge, whereas 12(24%) of nursing student had average level of knowledge and 31 (62%) nursing student had good knowledge regarding management of BMW before administration of planned teaching program. In posttest there were,00(0%) had poor level of knowledge, whereas 2(4%) of nursing student had average level of knowledge and 48 (96%) nursing student had good knowledge regarding management of BMW after administration of planned teaching program. The paired t test was used to test the hypothesis and significant difference in the level of knowledge between pre- test and post-test by nursing student residing selected area regarding management of BMW and is significant ( p<0.001). The mean pretest score was 13.84 and post test score was 17.50. The above table 5 and fig 12 depicts the mean and standard deviation of knowledge score obtained before and after the administration of the planned teaching program.
