Hybrid work, initially introduced as a temporary response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has now become a fundamental aspect of modern office culture. At the onset of the pandemic, organizations worldwide were uncertain about the feasibility of remote work. Both management and employees struggled to adapt to this new way of working, as the idea of companies operating entirely remotely while maintaining productivity seemed unimaginable. However, hybrid work—which blends remote and in-office setups—has since emerged as the dominant model, particularly in the IT sector. While it offers greater flexibility and an improved work-life balance, it also brings unique challenges that affect productivity and employee engagement. This research paper examines the obstacles IT professionals face in a hybrid work environment and explores strategies to optimize this model for greater efficiency.
