Abstract

The issues that the people of Tharu tribe encounter are discussed in this article. Described various types of problems, challenges that came with it, and how it affected their way of life. Second, it displays the proportion of western culture living in Tharu tribe. Nonetheless, the present research makes an effort to illustrate how these problems are affecting their lives, and it also offers insight into the complexity of the Tharu tribe’s culture which was the main reason behind their problems in the Palia Block and Nighasan Block of Lakhimpur Kheri District, Uttar Pradesh. The data was collected from 250 respondents by using descriptive design and purposive sampling with the help of interview schedule. Also noted are the government’s efforts to address the issues facing Tharu community.

Naureen Bano, Research Scholar, Department of Anthropology and Social Work, SHUATS, Prayagraj

Naureen Bano received her Masters in Anthropology from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj. She has qualified NET-JRF Award in 2018 in Anthropology subject. She was also a gold medalist in M.A. She has participated in many National/International Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and Trainings and her many research papers have been published in National/International Journals. She has also received two National Awards i.e. Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rashriya Puraskar and APJ Abdul Kalam Azad in the field of Research in Social Science from Magic Book of Record Foundation, Haryana.

Dr. Alam Ara, Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology and Social Work, SHUATS, Prayagraj

Dr. Alam Ara received her Masters in Anthropology from University of Allahabad, Prayagraj. She has completed her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Lucknow University, Lucknow. Presently she is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Social Work, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj. She has more than 15 years’ experience as Assistant Professor and she has also guided many M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis. She had also participated in many National/International Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops etc. Her more than 20 research papers have been published in National /International Journals. She has also received many National/International Awards and she is also a lifetime member of The Asian Man Journal.
