Academic Anxiety and Adjustment Ability Among the Primary School Students in the district of Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal

Abstract

This current investigation has conducted to explore academic anxiety and adjustment ability in primary school students of Uttar Dinajpur District, West Bengal. This study was using descriptive survey method and total 200 school students from three primary schools were selected in Uttar Dinajpur District as the sample. The study was determined to using two independently - developed questionnaires such as - one measuring academic anxiety and other assessing adjustment ability. This examination was using statistical techniques such as Mean, Standard Deviation, t-value and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation were using SPSS for data analysis. This study was finding that there is not positively correlation compared with academic anxiety and adjustment ability, also indicating that lower adjustment ability is associated with lower academic anxiety. The study was found no significant dissimilarity in academic anxiety and adjustment ability based on gender or locality (urban and rural) of the primary school students. This investigation was discovered that Between Groups Parents' Occupation have comparatively low than the Within Groups Parents' Occupation in Academic Anxiety and in adjustment ability's between groups parents' occupation have comparatively high than the Within Groups Parents' Occupation. The result of the study explore that AMP Parents' Educational Qualification have comparatively low than BMP Parents' Educational Qualification in Academic Anxiety and AMP Parents' Educational Qualification have comparatively high than the BMP Parents' Educational Qualification in Adjustment Ability in the district of Uttar Dinajpur on the basis of their obtained mean scores.
