Abstract

Entrepreneurship is a step-by-step process that involves multiple stages. The process of becoming an entrepreneur is characterised by selectivity and encounters numerous hurdles and problems. The study attempts to locate the presence of variation in intention to start a business across gender in post pandemic period in India. The planned behavior theory is utilized to assess the factors influencing entrepreneurial inclination. The study found that females are more willing to start their own business in comparison to male but the difference in entrepreneurial intention is insignificant across gender in the post-pandemic period. Furthermore, despite the males are less willing to start their own business, the significant endowment effect in favour of males has reduced the gender gap. The endowment effect suggest that males have better access to entrepreneurial networks, self-efficacy relative to female.
