Abstract

Employee motivation is a crucial factor in achieving organizational success. Employees who are well motivated usually exhibit greater productivity, stronger dedication, higher work quality, and healthier relationships at the workplace. This study explores the effect of motivation on employee performance by analyzing theoretical concepts, internal and external motivational factors, and organizational practices that improve performance results. The research follows a descriptive approach using secondary data gathered from books, journals, reports, and academic articles. The findings reveal that motivation has a positive effect on employee efficiency, attendance, involvement, creativity, and retention. While both financial and non-financial rewards play an important role, long-term performance is more closely linked with recognition, career advancement, supportive leadership, and meaningful job roles. The study concludes that organizations should develop balanced motivational systems to enhance employee performance.

    Dr. Urvashi Prajapati is a highly dedicated academician and researcher, holding M.Com and Ph.D. (Commerce) qualifications, with more than 5 years of diversified experience in teaching, research, and academic administration in the fields of Commerce and Management. Dr. Prajapati has actively contributed to academia through participation in numerous UGC-sponsored national seminars, conferences, and workshops, where several research papers have been presented. Dr. Urvashi Prajapati has also participated in and presented research papers at various international conferences, reflecting a strong commitment to global academic engagement and scholarly excellence. Her academic interests primarily focus on socio-cultural dimensions, work-life balance, and organizational behavior, particularly in the context of IT sector employees.In addition to her teaching and research contributions, Dr. Prajapati has been actively involved in academic development, curriculum enrichment, and student mentoring. She has also contributed to research publications in reputed journals, including Scopus-indexed journals, demonstrating her commitment to quality research and knowledge dissemination.Currently, Dr. Urvashi Prajapati is serving at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, where she continues to contribute significantly to teaching, research, and institutional development.
